Google’s new “helpful content update”
On August 18, 2022, Twiter announced the publication of a new algorithm update called “helpful content update”. It is intended to promote original, helpful content for readers written for the user and not mainly to collect traffic from the search engine. This is a new type of algorithm about which little is known. The following advice can be found in Google’s published guidelines:
Google assumes that the target page has to fully respond to what he is looking for and what query he is typing into the search engine. The target page should exhaust the topic, focus on the subject and fully answer the question the user has asked.
Update is to be implemented from the beginning of next week. Like the others it will take about 2 weeks. English and Spanish-language versions of the search engine will be covered first. It will probably hit us with a 2-3 week delay. The changes are global so we can expect some turbulence in the search results. The update process is automatic and on a machine learning system and will be adjusted over time. Valued content will be at the query level – hence pages with content written “for the search engine” and “for the user” will be ranked per query. Simply put, poor quality content will be lower in the search results and those blocks with unique and valuable advice will be promoted. more at https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2022/08/helpful-content-update
