The development of advertising forms that can be used on the Internet is clearly accelerating. The emission of text ads or graphic banners on the web is no longer sufficient to achieve the goals of an advertising campaign. Recipients have become so accustomed to them that they stop noticing them. These are problems for which Google Ads is constantly trying to find solutions.

The solution to these problems can be sought in automating the processes of creating advertising materials. Google Ads is constantly developing tools to automatically generate flexible text and graphic creatives and create video ads.
Voiceover track in Google Ads
In July 2022, a new voice-over tool – adding a voiceover track in Google Ads video ads – was added to the range of solutions for creating ad content. It works on the basis of a generator that converts written text into speech. The prepared audio material can be added live to the video with appropriate timing.
Examples of voice-over solutions in Google Ads
One example Google writes about is the Sony ad. They used Google Ads voiceover for ads of 15 and 30 seconds in length. The addition of sound helped increase ad recognition by 25% and achieve a 50% lower cost of user interest. How to add voiceover to Google Ads?
The process of adding voice-over in video campaigns is quite simple. You just need to go through a few steps:
- Sign in to your Google Ads account.
- Go to Tools and Settings.
- In the “Common Resources” section, select “Resource Library.”
- Press “+” to add a new resource, select “Video” and then “Adding a voiceover track.”
- Choose whether you want to add a voiceover to a video posted on YouTube or a video from the Google Ads Resource Library. Then click “Enhance video.”
- Select a voiceover, add texts and their time settings.
- Adjust everything by refreshing the recording preview.
- After checking everything, “Create Movie.”
- Enter its name and.
- Choose where the video should be posted and upload the video.
After going through these steps, the recording should be at the selected destination.
Limitations of voice-over in Google Ads
The tool for adding an audio track in Google Ads videos is a good solution, but like most automated tools it has some limitations. What to keep in mind when creating a Google Ads voiceover video is:
- The maximum length of supported video is 140 seconds (2:20).
- Up to 5 voiceover recordings of 150 characters can be added to a video.
- The list of supported languages is limited. Currently, you can use:
- English (in several versions),
- Hindi,
- French,
- Spanish,
- Indonesian,
- Malay,
- Mandarin,
- Filipino,
- Korean,
- Swedish.
