Verify the identity of the Google Ads account advertiser
Google at the beginning of the year set its sights on improving security in the Google Ads ecosystem. In the interest of user safety, Google introduced a new program to verify the identity of advertisers. It will allow audiences to know what company is offering a particular service or product which in turn will increase transparency and awareness. The advertiser verification program is a unified business process. An advertiser, after clicking on the drop-down triangle right next to an ad, will be able to see Information about that ad:
Advertising www.sociallama.pl
This ad was displayed to you due to the following factors:
- Your approximate current location according to Google is:
- An area that Google thinks you might be interested in (given your past activities);
- locations that Google finds relevant based on your search terms.
- Current search terms
- The ad can also be blocked or reported to Google.
- Advertisers who advertise through the Google Ads system can expect an email from Google asking them to confirm their identity.
Who can go through the verification process ?
The Google Ads account verification process can be passed by a person with administrative access to the account.
What will Google ask for to pass the verification process?
Photos of one of the documents:
- ID
- licence
- passport
in the case of foreigners
- residence permit
- visa
Another necessary document that Google will ask for is the following.
- a copy from the National Court Register (KRS)
or
- a copy from CEIDG (Central Register of Economic Activity)
It will also be necessary to supplement:
- Company names
- address
- zip code
- villages
Where can I check my account verification status?
You can check your account verification status in your Google Ads dashboard by clicking on the “Tools & Settings” tab – > “Payments” – > “Advertiser Verification.” After completing and going through all the steps, wait 5 to 7 business days for the account verification information to be updated. If Google determines that verification requires additional information, the advertiser will be notified by email. The entire verification process takes place in the Google Ads account and is necessary to continue using this form of advertising. Advertisers have 30 days to start the process and another 30 to complete it. The process looks quite complicated at first glance, but from experience it’s safe to say that it’s not so 🙂 Below I have provided a link to the support on Google’s official website.
