Why is website content important for SEO?
Creating interesting and useful content that complies with SEO principles is one of the most important factors for good site visibility. Google itself, in its SEO guide, stresses that without well-written content, a site has no chance of ranking well. What should the texts on the site be in order to help it rank in Google? What exactly does their optimization consist of? You will find out everything in our text.
Why does Google rely on quality content on the site?
When a user types a certain phrase on the Internet, it is Google’s algorithm’s job to show the most relevant pages. So if we want our site to rank high in the organic search results, the text must be written for the user and should respond to the user’s query. However, the texts should also be written with SEO principles in mind. This does not mean, however, that the texts have to be written “for the search engine”. It is important to find the right balance and not to forget that at the end of the whole SEO process it is all about qualitative conversion, which (after the user hits the site) depends primarily on what is on the page. How to write texts on the site so that they have a good impact on Google positioning?
Just a decade ago, the standard was to create texts overflowing with keywords that were completely unreadable to the user. This made sources from the Internet considered unreliable. Google has learned its lesson, and texts that primarily answer queries are now given a premium. However, this does not mean that such content does not need to be properly optimized for SEO. Fortunately, guidelines for text optimization often coincide with methods to improve the readability of text for users. Here are a few basic rules to keep in mind when creating content for websites.
1. make sure the text is well readable
First, the text be neatly written. Users, as well as Google’s robots, care about well-edited and carefully worded content. It is also not advisable to add images or videos in the content (unless there is a substantive justification). Hx headings are an important part of text layout. They allow you to break up the text into smaller sections, and are also a great place to put keywords. Also, remember that Hx headings should be arranged hierarchically.
2. use appropriate keywords.
Adding key phrases to the text allows first of all to indicate to Google what our text is about. Appropriate and natural saturation of texts with keyword phrases of interest allows not only to attract the user, but also to position the site for specific phrases.
Avoid over-saturating the text with phrases or inserting unnecessary keywords.
3. Ensure uniqueness and good content of texts.
One of the biggest mistakes that can be made when creating texts for a site is copying them from other pages. This results in a very rapid drop in the visibility of the entire site, which is difficult to make up for. It is also a poor solution to use automatic text generators. Google can recognize whether the text was created by a human or by an automated machine. Moreover, the use of “mixers” makes it practically impossible to take care of the high content of the texts. Texts should carry some value for users and written correctly in terms of spelling and style. Also, do not forget about the length of the text – content that is too short may be considered of little value to Google’s algorithm; while content that is too long may be quickly abandoned by users.
Qualitative content always wins.
Creating valuable content for a website is difficult and takes time. However, applying yourself and planning the process carefully always pays dividends.
