Google Bard, or artificial intelligence from Google
The past year has seen the rapid development of tools that use artificial intelligence to generate content and answer users’ questions. Examples such as ChatGPT and Midjourney are gaining popularity. However, it is worth noting that they differ from traditional human authors, especially in terms of the level of perplexity and burstiness.
“Perplexity” and “burstiness” in content generation
“Perplexity” assesses the complexity of a text, while “burstiness” measures the variety of sentences. Typically, human authors show higher levels of “burstiness,” using both short and long sentences. In contrast, sentences generated by artificial intelligence tend to maintain a uniform length. To ensure that the content you generate has the right level of perplexity and burstiness, it’s worth keeping this in mind. When artificial intelligence creates content, it often uses wording that differs from what a human would choose. The use of unusual terms can affect the uniqueness of the text and attract the attention of readers.
Google Bard enters the market
As of July 2023, Google has launched Bard, which was previously introduced at the Google I/O conference in March. It can be unanimously said to be an advanced chatbot that uses knowledge and artificial intelligence to answer a variety of user questions. One of the key elements of this presentation was the announcement that Bard will support as many as 40 new languages, including Polish. This innovation allows users from Poland and other countries to use Google Bard services by asking questions in their native language. This is a huge step forward, making this tool more accessible and useful to the global online community. If you are interested in starting a conversation with the Bard chatbot, just visit bard.google.com. However, it is worth remembering that we are currently dealing with an experimental tool, so the answers may not always be perfect. Google, however, assures that it will systematically develop Bard to improve the accuracy of its answers.
Data privacy and security and data control
Central to the introduction of Google Bard in Europe is concern for user privacy and a responsible approach to data processing. Google has consulted with experts, rule-makers and regulators, including data protection authorities, to ensure a seamless implementation of the tool in Europe, especially in the European Union. It is worth noting that by using Bard’s chatbot, some data is collected, such as the content of conversations, the user’s location, opinions and information about the use of the service. If privacy issues are important to you, it’s worth reviewing the information available at the Google Bard help center.
Adjusting data storage
Moreover, users can decide how long their data will be stored on Google’s servers. By default, data related to chatbot usage is stored for up to 18 months, but there is an option to adjust this setting to 3 or 36 months. There is also an option to disable data storage altogether and delete Bard-related activity on a dedicated page.
New features in Google Bard and export capabilities
As for the latest Google Bard features, users can now customize the tone and style of the chatbot’s responses. Five customization options are available: simpler, longer, shorter, more professional and more casual. It is also possible to pin and rename conversations, making it easier to navigate and return to previous conversations. Google Bard is a step forward in the development of artificial intelligence and chatbots, offering users access to information and interaction in multiple languages, including Polish. At the same time, Google is focusing on user privacy and data security, an important aspect in today’s digital world. As the tool continues to evolve, we can expect more and more advanced features and enhancements that will make our experience with Google Bard even more rewarding.
Summary
Google Bard is an innovative chatbot that brings artificial intelligence and support for multiple languages, including Polish, to online communication. With Bard, users can receive answers to questions in their native language, an important step toward the global availability of AI tools. At the same time, Google is placing a strong emphasis on protecting the privacy of users’ data, allowing them to control the storage of their information. The latest Bard update also introduces many features that make the tool easier to use, making it even more versatile and user-friendly. Google Bard is an example of the ongoing development of AI technology and a promising step toward human-machine interaction.
